If you read my blended juice post, you know I am a fan of making my own at home instead of buying store bought juices-which honestly cost a fortune! Now, I don’t have a juicer, but I do have a great blender and I found that blending your juice is really just as good or better than juicing.

But, if you are not as much of a fan of the pulpy stuff, thats an easy fix. All you need is a mesh strainer- sold at any home store (like Bed Bath & Beyond) and a spoon. To strain out the pulp, slowly pour the blended juice into the mesh strainer , with a bowl or large glass underneath, and gently push the pulp down with the spoon- squeezing out all of the juice. Easy!

1 cup raw spinach
1 cup raw kale
1 large green apple- core removed and sliced (if you want a slightly sweeter taste to your juice, use a sweeter apple like a fuji or gala).
1/2 cup fresh parsley leaves
1 medium cucumber, skin on and sliced
1 inch piece of ginger, peeled
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Add all ingredients to your blender in the order listed. I use a vitamix and LOVE it! Blend on low, then slowly turn up to high. Blend until completely smooth- all ingredients should be completely pureed. The outcome should resemble a mix between a smoothie and a juice. If you don’t mind the pulp like me (I’m also a little lazy so I usually skip the straining step because of that!) pour and enjoy! If you want a thinner juice, take out your mesh strainer and get going! This yields about 2 large servings of juice. I put some in a portable water bottle or mason jar and keep it in the fridge for an easy grab and go snack. Enjoy!
