Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

I love pumpkin. I’m a sucker for pumpkin flavored anything. If I could eat pumpkin pie on the daily I would- sadly, I don’t because that wouldn’t be very healthy or waist friendly. BUT I did come up with the next best thing- and it’s full of protein, nutrients and lots of healthy stuff! My Pumpkin Pie Smoothie is filling, easy to make and it tastes like dessert- which is really the best part.

Pumpkin Smoothie | Fit Kat By Katrina Bowden

Mix all of these ingredients (in no particular order) in a blender- I use a vitamix, which I LOVE, but use whichever model you have.

1/2 ripe FROZEN banana

1/3 cup plain canned pumpkin purée-not the sweetened kind (I use organic pumpkin purée from Trader Joes or Libby’s)

1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (I use rice or egg protein)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

1/4 teaspoon maca powder (you can omit this if you like)

3/4  cup unsweetened almond milk

A cup full of ice cubes- about 5-7 cubes works too…the more ice, the thicker the shake will be!

Blend until all ice is completely crushed. Enjoy!
