Okay, so most of you know that I am obsessed with collagen powder and that I drink it in my shakes every damn day. Those of you who don’t know, now you know. I am ride of die for collagen powder.
If you didn’t catch my first post about collagen protein, check it here….I wrote it what seems to be like a million years ago (it was like 10 months) and I have been taking it daily since. I love the results!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
I am all about keeping my body well and looking young from the inside out as naturally as possible, and that is exactly what collagen does for your body. I am not opposed to resorting to non-natural remedies at all… I just haven’t gotten there yet. For right now, I am good with what I do and my skin/hair/nails/body are all looking and running right. The second I decide to give a little something something extra a try (IF AND WHEN), I will for sure write about my experience and share it with you all!
Anyway…back on track here…
Collagen protein. My ride or die.
I have alway used bovine collagen (AKA animal collagen). And have loved the results. They weren’t anything crazy immediate, like I woke up the next day and everything was gleaming and perfect. I noticed results after a few months of continual use…and I continue to see results. And the older we get, the less our bodies makes collagen naturally, so I’m like a few notches down from sprinkling it on my salad.
But something caught my eye recently and I had to know more.
I saw MARINE COLLAGEN. Like from fish. Yep. Sort of sounds like it would be stinky and gross…but before you click off the page let me explain what I read…
I read that marine collagen is absorbed into your body
and put to use up to
1.5 times better than bovine collagen!!!
And I dug a little deeper to discover that this insight is legit- all sources agreed. I was like…ummm…why haven’t I been using this since the get go?!? UGH. Palm to Face.
So I quickly ordered some to try out. I have been using it for 2 weeks now and OMG you guys. This stuff is for real! My skin is so glowy and my nails have gotten a lot stronger (I’m unfortunately blessed with crap nails that break all the time). I also had a little scar removed from my body and it is healing SOO fast…strangely fast to be honest. It could just be a coincidence, but I think the marine collagen might have something to do with it.
And about the “marine” part of the collagen? Don’t worry. It smells and tastes like nothing and it mixes into liquids super easily. This morning I put it in some juice and didn’t notice it at all. And in the afternoon I mixed it into my turmeric golden milk latte and it was great.
Right now, I am all about this stuff. It’s a little more pricey than bovine collagen, but when it works 1.5 times better, I am alright with that.
This is the one I bought, but I have also heard great things about a few others, which I am including in the scrolly-shop below.
Happy Friday everyone!! Drink your fish collagen and have a beautiful weekend!
