We Need To Talk About Peanut Butter Powder

OK YOU GUYS!

I have discovered a new thing that I am obsessed with.  I just found out about it last week…so it’s brand new to me…I’m sure it’s been out there for a while, but somehow I was living with my head in the dirt and missed this amazing, healthy (dare I say game-changing??) product.

Powdered Peanut Butter.  POWDERED.  PEANUT.  BUTTER.

Like…literally the perfect product for a lover of protein smoothies (um hello me!) AND the lover of peanut butter alike.

I mean, I would’ve settled and been 100% ecstatic over that alone- using sticky peanut butter in a blender can result in clumps and smears and it just doesn’t really blend as well as other ingredients do.  It’s the problem child in the protein smoothie world.

BUT IT GETS BETTER!!!

It is SUPER low calorie and super high peanut butter flavor.  It has only 45 calories per 2 tablespoons (seriously!!!)…5 grams of protein and ZERO grams of sugar.  It is all natural, has no additives and is made with roasted peanuts, salt and sugar.  That’s it!  No weird stuff added to make it low calorie!

I mean….I guess it’s magic?  Anyone know the secret?  Whatever, I guess it doesn’t really matter.

It turns out that roasting the peanuts well causes them to lose some of their fat, resulting in a lower calorie powdered product…who knew?! 

SOOOO now you can add 2 tablespoons of peanut buttery goodness to your shakes etc without any sticky mess, and for only 45 CALORIES INSTEAD OF 190!!!  That is major.  Major.

I have been adding it to my morning shakes (my cinnamon banana protein shake is perfection with this PB powder) and it really takes it up a few notches.

I mixed a spoonful of this with some organic jam and spread it on toast the other day…and HOLY MOLY you guys…peanut butter and jelly perfection, with way fewer calories.  And mixing it with the jam allowed the powder to hide itself in the fruit, so no chalky/ powdery texture!

I am looking forward to finding new ways to use this powder- first thing being making protein balls with them!  Keep your eyes peeled for that recipe coming soon!
